The Annual Conference at Lancaster University was excellent. Many folk spoke of how they had enjoyed the quality and diversity of the presentations. The poster presentations were also of high quality and it was great to hear such a buzz during the coffee and lunch breaks. Dan Evans as national ECR rep was busy over the two days listening to people's views and ideas for the future of the Society.
The great news for our Northern Soils Network is that we have an ECR rep. She is Kirsty Elliott for the University of Sheffield. Kirsty is researching the effects of sludge-rainfall interactions on soil quality and crop production. She is thrilled to be the new rep and I know that she will bring lots of energy, enthusiasm and creativity to the role. Welcome on board, Kirsty.
I should like to thank Bea Burak of Lancaster University who is stepping down as the ECR rep. She kindly stayed on in the role until we had a replacement. Very best wishes for the coming months, Bea.
