The BSS Postgraduate Award (Harper Adams) was presented to Mikael Norton by Ian Brown
Mikael, who originates from Harare, Zimbabwe, studied on the MSc in Sustainable Agriculture and was awarded a Merit. He previously completed his first degree at the University of Bangor in Agriculture, Conservation and Environment.
Mikael’s Masters Research Project was titled “Long-term applications of organic amendments to agricultural soil: their effects on soil quality”. His research measured physical, chemical and biological properties of soil and his examiner commented that “Relevant methodologies and analysis have been undertaken in a thorough approach”, and that “the student was able to produced a confident defence” of his work during his Viva voce examination.
