Ed Paterson

The Society has been informed of the passing of Ed Paterson, former Head of Soils at the James Hutton Institute, on 29th December 2014. Ed was a member of the Society for many years and we would like to pass on our condolences to his family.

His funeral is being held at 11.45am on Thursday 8th January 2015 at West Chapel, Aberdeen Crematorium.

First day back in the office today after a two week break and we are moving!

Congratulations to Chris Moorin, winner of the 2014 BSSS MSc Dissertation Prize Winner (University of Reading) for his on ‘the impact of different organic amendments on potentially toxic element (PTE) bioavailability in soils and the possible evolutionary adaptation of Common Bentgrass (Agrostis capillaris L.) to high PTE concentrations’, supervised by Dr Denise Lambkin.
