The organisers of the 2015 British Society of Soil Science Annual Meeting are delighted to annouce that Professor Ian Boyd, Defra Chief Scientific Adviser, will be launching the new Working with Soil Professional Competency document "Soil Science in crop and livestock production" during the daytime programme.
Damien Burnell, 26, from Cowbridge, South Glamorgan, won the British Society for Soil Science Undergraduate prize when he graduated from Harper Adams University at the end of September.
Damien, who completed the honours degree in Agriculture with Crop Management was deemed to have produced the best undergraduate final year dissertation on a soils-related topic.
Nichola Taylor graduated from Harper Adams University at the end of September, postgraduate student Nicola graduated with a Masters degree in Soil and Water Management, from Groeslon, Caernarfon, was awarded the British Society for Soil Science (Postgraduate) prize, for submitting the best postgraduate final year dissertation on a soils-related topic.
