To project how much food can be produced in the future, researchers use agricultural models that estimate crop yield, or how much of a crop can be produced in a certain amount of space. These models take into account factors like climate and weather variability, irrigation, fertilizer, and soil type.
Soil Science Australia produce an annual Australian Soils/Soil Art calendar and are looking for entries to their competition for images to be included in the 2017 edition.
Entries must reach the Soil Science Australia office before 31st July 2016.

2-year impact factor is up 29% from 2.649 to 3.425
Up 4 places in the Soil Science rankings from 7th to 3rd.
The 2016 Society Annual Meeting is being organised in partnership with the Soil Security Programme and will take place on 7th and 8th September at the University of Reading, Reading, Berkshire United Kingdom.
