Royal Welsh Show

The Royal Welsh Show takes place at the Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, Powys between 20th and 23rd July 2015.

For Soil enthusiasts Natural Resources Wales are featuring the following activities;

  • Feature exhibition on soils – touch and feel the different soils  - and experts on hand to answer farmers’ queries everyday. The unit has International year of the soil livery and key messages.
  • Telemetry station set up with a probe to measure soil temperature – as per their Farming Connect project
  • Education staff will be creating wormeries with school children
  • An Open Soils Event on Wednesday 22nd July (pm) with Deputy Minister Rebecca Evans. This will be as an open farmer event and concentrating on the practical ways farmers can look after their soils, so that the soil looks after you.

Also BSSS Member Dr John Scullion will be part of the "Ask the expert" Breakfast panel on Wednesday 22nd July between 8.30 and 11am.
