Review of Participatory Land Use/Resource Planning Tools and Approaches

The Land Resources Planning (LRP) Secreteriat, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations are carrying out a survey in conjuction with their Land annd Water Division to review needs, required tools and processes at various scales, to help countries and stakeholders meet emerging challenges and competition over resources and support sustainable use of land and water resources and resilient ecosystems.

British Society of Soil Science now licensed for RSci and RSciTech Awards

The British Society of Soil Science (BSSS) are now licensed to award Registered Scientist (RSci) and Registered Science Technician (RSciTech) to their eligible members, in addition to Chartered Scientist (CSci).

The Society aims to promote the study and profession of soil science.

Speaking about their two new licences, Dr Paul Newell Price, Chair of the Professional Practice Committee said,

President Elect Professor Wilfred Otten, World Congress Working Group Chair Dr Bruce Lascelles and Executive Officer Ian Brown attended the 2016 Inter Congress Meeting in Rio de Janeiro from 21st to 24th November 2016.

There was two days of Council Meetings and a one day Scientific Conference plus a visit to the venue for the 2018 World Congress of Soil Science which takes place in August 2018.
