UK Soil Observatory win an award

14th November 2014

UK Soil Observatory (UKSO) has won  the Excellence with Impact Award in Geospatial Excellence from the Association for Geographic Information (AGI). AGI describe this award as recognising projects which have achieved outstanding success or impact, measured against societal, humanitarian, environmental or financial benchmarks.

UKSO provides a unified starting point for accessing UK soils data and underpinning research, with the specific objective of providing these data for free where possible. Such access to fully described datasets will allow users to access information for novel research, for public and private decision making and for general interest groups.

UKSO partners include NERC, CEH, BGS, The James Hutton Institute, Rothamsted Research, Cranfield University, Forest Research, Forestry Commission and AFBI Agri-food Biosciences Institute
