The 2014 British Society of Soil Science Award for Reading University was presented by Dr Steve Robinson to Ben Jones for his paper "The effect of leaf litter manipulation on forest CO2 flux in a temperate deciduous oak woodland"
Early Careers Researcher Conference

The British Society of Soil Science is pleased to announce that the Early Careers Researcher Conference will be held at the University of York on the 7th & 8th April 2015.
This Conference is open to Society Student Members only and is free to attend.

On behalf of the Society Professor Lorna Dawson talked to the Islam Channel's Living the Life programme about various burial methods and decomposition.
The Muslim practice is to bury the dead in a cloth shroud and Professor Dawson will help assess the impact this might have on our environment, as opposed to casket burials.
